Can also be translated "...with footprints of blood".

This is my first translation, and I welcome any corrections of the more expert translators.   
 
My commentary:
The land of Gilead is wrought with idolatrous sacrifices and this angers the Most HighHis anger over idolatrous and lawless deeds is expressed in Hosea's oracle more than once.

Gilead, your town commits idolatry, corruption and blood;

(Dalton) Gilead was steeped in heinous activities and violence. The pollutions of Gilead in the lands that were promised as an inheritance would eventually be cleaned for a while and returned to their owners. Now, the world waits for this to happen again, quite possibly and hopefully for the last time.
