"Gilead a place that commits evil idolatry and is slippery with blood."

Can also be translated "...with footprints of blood".

This is my first translation, and I welcome any corrections of the more expert translators.

My commentary: The land of Gilead is wrought with idolatrous sacrifices and this angers the Most High. His anger over idolatrous and lawless deeds is expressed in Hosea's oracle more than once.
