Translation of Hosea 6:4
Did I make you as oxen, Ephriam? Didn’t I make you splendorous, Yehudah? And you bow as them towards me – as a cloud in the cold and as dew from the mountains.

Did I make you as oxen, Ephriam? Are we simply as oxen, meant to till the earth, multiply and feed –
Didn’t I make you splendorous, Yehudah? Or are we splendorous and precious? An ox is a beast and reasons with compulsions and desires of his loins and stomachs. Aren’t we as men much more than this? If so, why do we stray and follow the secretions of our mouths and devour every unclean thing we can stuff in them? Why do we fornicate every female we see in our imaginations and hearts? Shouldn't we strike these things according to command? Even an ox obey his master’s chastising whip. Doesn’t our Master chastise us with His Word, teachings and Ruach? If we believe that we are splendorous, why do we not carry ourselves as such? If we believe we have forgiveness for sins and that our master wishes not to whip, rather, to forgive, are we justified in our own reasonings? We are not.
And you bow as them towards me – as a cloud in the cold and as dew from the mountains When we choose our own precepts as precedence we bow/worship unto The Most High like the heathen. Our faith then is like a cloud in the coldness of the mountains and the sun will burn it away. We must pursue ourselves unto YHVH and learn from His Anointed One – there is no compromise nor any other way.
