Translation of Genesis 3:22

God Yahweh said: Lo! Adam has become as one of us, knowing good and bad. And now lest he will stretch his hand and receive also from the tree of life and eat and be living forever.

"as one of us" = "united like one of us"

"One of us" may probably mean "one of angels" (as representing God). Trinitarians may argue that it may mean "one of the three persons of God".

Whoever these "one of us" means, they know good and bad but are definitely not hanged computers like Adam. Their thoughts are more tightly united through knowledge dangerous for lower species. So we see that for Adam that had not only negative but also positive aspects.

What is the reason that God does not want Adam to live forever?

Analyzing of information presented on this page is complete (even with spaces hypothesis). That is, all variants of translation were considered carefully. No warranty however, that nothing is missing.
