Comments

Genesis 2:5 can be understood as a support of evolution theory because, if it describes events after the previous chapter, the grass was already created but not sprouted yet what is possible only if the "day" is a little period of time.

The word "generations" may witness pro evolution theory, as generations can be only if there is death. See also Theology:Evolution.

The word "day" here seems to denote the same period as six days in the first chapter of Genesis. This is a counter argument against understanding "day" as 24 hours not an arbitrary period.

I wonder it is said about the man here. Isn't grass able to sprout without a man?

Genesis 2:5 may be understood as indication that the following verse is about the period of the history of the Earth where there was no grass yet.
