(AKJV) And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows.

Has God heard teh cry of the Jews for them themselves? No, by reason of their taskmasters.

The reason God wants to do good to us is to deal with evil. We are a mean of eliminating evil.
