→Some examples
The following is a rule (but there are many exceptions from this rule):
*a noun ending with ה or ת is feminine;
*the rest of the nouns are masculine;
Names of cities and countries are feminine.
==Some examples of nouns==
[[Hebrew:עוף|עוף]] - a bird (masculine).
[[Hebrew:מיץ|מיץ]] - squeezing, pressing, wringing (masculine), ''an abstract concept''.
[[Hebrew:יבשה|יבשה]] - dry ground (ends with ה and is feminine, as usual for words with this last letter).
[[Hebrew:ארץ|ארץ]] - country, earth (female despite does not end with ה or ת); with definite article (see below) means "Earth".
[[Hebrew:עדן|עדן]] - Eden (feminine as any geographical name).
